Stargirl Caraway

Stargirl is back in the second book. This time, she is telling the story through a year-long letter to Leo. She has moved from Arizona to Pennsylvania, where she is back to being homeschooled. She has grown up a lot in this book, and met lots of new people along the way. She is still not over Leo, however. She is slowly learning to move on.

Leo Borlock

Leo does not actually appear in this book. But the story is written as a letter to Leo, for a whole year. He still plays an important part in the book.

Dootsie Pringle

Dootsie is a little girl that Stargirl meets. Dootsie is six years old, but seems older and smarter than that. Dootsie helps Stargirl meet lots of new and unique people.

Perry Deloplane

Perry is a boy that gets in a lot of trouble. Stargirl is starting to like him, but still has a hard time getting over Leo. As she learns more about Perry, she realizes he is not as bad as people think.

Betty Lou

Betty Lou is a woman that has not left her house in years. Stargirl and Dootsie visit her almost everyday, and they all help each other out.

Alvina

Alvina is a pip that picks on boy and thinks boys are rats. Stargirl helps her out when she needs it the most and acts like a big sister to her.
